Are You Up for The Challenge?

The 90 Day Challenge

It has been a while since I last posted and I wanted to update you all on some recent changes. I have been approached by numerous people who wanted me to join the Body By Vi 90 day challenge. At first I was so focused on what I was doing that I really wasn’t open to looking at anything new. Up until a few weeks ago that was the case. Then I decided I needed to at least take a true look since I had been approached so many times by different people who I knew. My wife and I sat down and went through the information and I was really blown away by all the result people were having getting healthier on the challenge. My wife was also impressed and for the first time she actually wanted to join before I did. We jumped on board as promoters and are currently enjoying our 90 day challenge. We are 2 weeks into it and we both have lost 5 lbs already. My energy levels are up and I feel great. It just made sense for us to get started with a Health and Wellness company since we were already focused on getting healthier. The Body By Vi challenge has been a great addition to our fitness program and I look forward to the healthy results we both will be having!

Are you a “Doer” or a “Complainer”?

I wanted to write a real quick blog about some of the different mindsets I have been noticing with people who I talk to about my business. This should help some of you struggling with the daily grind of prospecting. Obviously we are all looking for qualities in people who would fit our business and types of people who would be fun to work with. We don’t always learn someones mindset until after we chat with them a few times and I encourage you to actively learn about your prospects so that you can find more “doers” and less “complainers”.

Characteristics of “Doers”

 You might be asking yourself what exactly are some of the characteristics of “doers” are. The best way for me to explain that is to give some examples of the people I have been working with that are “doers”. These people don’t make excuses for why they can’t do it and look for solutions on how they can. I have one guy that literally was down to his last 5 dollars in his bank account and decided that he will do whatever it takes to get started with me because he no longer wants life to be a struggle. His fear of more struggle is going to propel him to success! Another guy I know works a job that he absolutely hates and the people he is around are very negative. Funny thing is he has been on a quest for personal development and began to realize that if he wants different results in life he has to be positive and do something different from the people he works with. Just last night he made a commitment to his future by setting a date for getting started. All because he is sick and tired of being sick and tired. He isn’t making excuses. He is just going out to get it done. These are not all the characteristics of “doers” but I think you get the idea. “Doers” don’t complain, don’t make excuses, and don’t care what others around them say. They will be a success because they will do whatever it takes!

Characteristics of “Complainers”

We all know complainers. In the book “How to Win Friends and Influence People”, Dale Carnegie says never criticize, condemn, or complain. That is exactly what “complainers” do. They kill their own dreams by self sabotage thinking. They find all the reasons not to do something and look for negative “stuff” to support why they can’t do it. For example, recently I chatted with a young man who I think has all the potential in the world to be successful. We had a great conversation after he viewed my presentation and was ready to rock. Somewhere along the way he started letting his negative thinking take over and he went out and found all types of reasons why he couldn’t succeed. At this point it serves no purpose to convince anyone otherwise because a man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still. I had to tell him that this probably wasn’t for him. I know full well he could succeed but he let other influences sway his own opinion and turned out to be someone I just wasn’t looking for.

Your attitude and mindset is everything. I would encourage you to find others with positive and uplifting attitudes to partner with. It is ok to let people go if they don’t fit the culture you are trying to create.

Dave Ramsey vs Robert Kiyosaki

Who is better?

There are lots of people out there looking for new ways to create wealth these days. I have run acrossed the names of Dave Ramsey and Robert Kiyosaki as the more influential of the bunch. These two men both have great principles but are very different in their approach when it comes to getting wealthy.  I often get asked ” Who should I listen to?” The answer to that question isn’t as cut and dry as saying one is better than the other. It really depends on what exactly you are looking to do with your life. Lets compare the two.

Dave Ramsey

Dave is a strong Christian man who believes all debt is bad and cash is king. He teaches people to get out of debt and how to get out of it as fast as possible. Once out of debt he advises to save 6-12 months of expenses and put money away for retirement via an IRA. Then begin to give back to people without worrying about getting repaid. These are all great principles when it comes to getting out of debt and staying out of debt. I truly believe we all should give more once we have got to a point that we are able to do so. Dave’s principles are great for people not interested in building a business for themselves and still want to create money freedom.

Robert Kiyosaki

Robert is the ultimate entrepreneur that has gone broke numerous times but has always found a way to make back his fortune. He advises that your need to be in control of your own future and there are such things as good debt and bad debt. Bad debt being credit cards, car loans and basically all debt that doesn’t pay you to have it. Good debt means things like real estate property or owning your own business. These things pay you to have them and begin to create residual or passive income. That means money you make even after you do the work and it continues to pay you over and over. Robert says that this isn’t for everyone and is not at all easy, but it can pay off so much more than just saving your money over the years. He wrote a best-selling book called Rich Dad Poor Dad that talks about how he learned different financial principles from his real dad (Poor Dad) and his friend’s father (Rich Dad). Anyone with an entrepreneurial attitude needs to read this book!

As you can see they both are great teachers in their own styles but it is up to you what one to follow depending on your situation. Either way you can mold your financial futures with both of their teachings. Just make a conscious effort to make it happen!

Forget the 9-9-9 and Do the 5-5-5!

Getting Your Business to Succeed Without Government Help

I have been hearing a lot about this 9-9-9 plan these days and to be perfectly honest I can’t say that I know anything about it. This post isn’t to debate government issues but to help you reach your dreams! I was listening to an audio cd that came with my most recent Success magazine earlier today and they were discussing ways to be successful in any business. They called it the 5-5-5 rule. What this means is to do 5 different things for your business at least 5 times a day, 5 days a week and you will start to get momentum on your side. For example you can make 5 sales/prospecting calls a day then do that 5 times a week. Pick 4 other areas that can help your business and repeat those same steps. What this will do for you is it will start to create momentum and we all know “An object that is in motion will not change its velocity unless an unbalanced force acts upon it.” This is the way to break through and not let an “unbalanced force” act upon you.

What Will Happen When You Do This?

First, you are going to notice that all the sudden you are staying more productive and actually getting results. The result may not be exactly the results that you planned but none the less they will be results. You will also start to become more comfortable doing these things and increase your numbers a little. Soon it will increase to doing 5 things a day 6 times. What that means is that lets say your task is to make sales calls like I talked about earlier. You will make 6 sales calls a day instead of 5 and keep increasing that number as things get easier for you. Here is a list of some of the things you can do to increase your business productivity:

  1. Sales Calls
  2. Follow Up calls
  3. Social Networking Posts
  4. Connect with X number of people
  5. Add People to you Social Network
  6. 1 on 1 Meetings
  7. Team Trainings
  8. Pick Up Business Cards
  9. Write Ads
  10. Passive Marketing

The important thing is to find 5 things that you can do daily to make your business grow. It is your business so don’t worry about what others might say because at the end of the day you are the one who cares the most about reaching YOUR own dreams!

What is YOUR plan B?

This blog is going to be short and sweet. I will let the video do most of the talking. I wanted to talk discuss options on finding a plan B when it comes to your job. In todays day and age many people are finding themselves being let go by a company that they have faithfully served for long periods of time. Most people never even see it coming and then again some people do. The question is “What are you doing to prepare yourself for this?” Have you even thought about a plan B? I will tell you that you NEED to be looking for a plan B income and it is best to develop it before you lose your job or are forced out. Your family depends on you and it is just a smart idea to have some sort of back up plan because the days of working for a company for your entire career are behind us. Don’t get caught with your head in the sand on this issue and start creating it now!

This video below is done by a personal friend of mine named Ray Higdon. He is interviewing Amy Jo Neal and she explains how 3 years ago she began to build her plan B income and just recently she was let go from a job paying her a multiple 6 figure income. How would you deal with this? Watch this video below and it may change your whole viewpoint on job security. You owe it to yourself to be informed on what your options are when it comes to looking for a back up plan.

How to Fix Your Facebook Marketing.

Don’t Be a Dirtbag Marketer

I want to talk a little bit about marketing on Facebook for your home based business. First let me say that I have very little tolerance for what I am about to talk about and if you do it you will get blocked immediately. What am I talking about? Posting a link on my wall to your opportunity WITHOUT my permission or recommendation. I have had many discussions with my friends on Facebook about this but I wanted to write it in a blog for everyone to see. There are quite a few reasons why you should not do this:

  1. Makes you look un-professional– Posting your link on someone elses wall is not the way to build your business. Basically what you are doing is trying to steal views from your friends friend list and making it look like you friend has endorsed what you are pitching. Why is this bad? For all the friends on my list I am very cautious of what is exposed to them because there is so much crap out there that I do not want my image tarnished by someone posting a link to something I don’t recommend.  Bottom line is that you look very desperate if you use this tactic.
  2. It is like playing the lottery– When you post your link on someones wall you are hoping other perfect prospects click on it and then sign up. Why doesn’t this work? Well network marketing is a relationship business. Always have been and always will be. You have to build some sort of relationship with people before you expose them to your opportunity. Take this example. Let’s say I walk up to you on the street and the first words out of my mouth are “Hey you should check out this amazing opportunity. Go to http://www.blahblahblah.com.” Would you be receptive to that? Most people would just walk away. Now if I approached you and complimented you on something I seen and then started a conversation with you. At the end of the conversation I say “Hey just throwing it out there, but would you be open to a side project if it didn’t interfere with what you are currently doing? If you are I can send you a little video but if not no big deal.” Now doesn’t that give you a little better chances of getting them to view your presentation?

The Pressure Approach Creates Amateur Business

Under Pressure

Do you ever get those telemarketing calls where the person on the other end is totally desperate to sell you something? What do you usually do? For me I usually am polite and just tell them I am not interested but I have had others that i needed to just hang up on entirely. I understand it is their job to sell whatever it is they are selling and usually it involves pressuring people into buying. This may work for telemarketers because they have so many people to call and some people just have a hard time saying no when they are pressured into doing something. For network marketing if you use this approach it will not only kill your business but it will also make you look like an amature in the process. Why do I say this? There are a few reasons:

  1. Using a pressure tactic does not make anyone like you more. This is a relationship building business and the goal is to get people to relate to you. You may get people to sign up but they will not stay with you over the long-term because they may not even like you.
  2. Amatures convince and professionals sort. What this means is that when you try to pressure people into your business you look like you need them and have lost all power. Professionals sort out the people they prospect and find the ones that are hungry to build a business. They won’t convince the ones that are on the fence because a man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still.
  3. Being a pressure “salesman/woman” is not something everyone you prospect wants or can do. I will say there are great sales people out there that can use pressure to make a sale but throw that stuff out the window when you build a network marketing business. Your job is not to sell. It is to share the information about your company and follow-up. Sales people sometimes have a hard time getting going in this business because of that. They are trained to “close the deal” and not share the information after building rapport. Get it in your mind that you are there to help people and not convince them. Helping them make the best decision for them may mean that they do not join you and that is ok.

It is said that pressure creates diamonds but when we talk about it in this field you don’t want to put it on while recruiting. Allow them to join how they want to join and just hold them accountable to what they say they can do. Get permission before you push them. Once they give you that permission you will be able to apply that precise pressure they need to grow and achieve the success they desire in you business.

What You Can Achieve Part Time May Surprise You!

Part Time Fortune or Full Time Living

With the economy that we are currently going through more and more people are trying to find ways to increase their income. Some are working 2nd and even 3rd jobs. My view on this is 2 jobs are for 2 people. One job is enough for anyone to handle in most cases. What other options might someone have if working a 2nd job is out of the question? Well one great way is to start a business. The problem most people have with this is that they think they will have to quit their current job to build a business because it will take full-time effort. This doesn’t have to be the case if you find a business that you can work from home.

Starting part-time with a home business can be one of the easiest ways to generate the extra income you need to make things more comfortable. You also do not need to quit your full-time job right away to build it. Working from home allows you to be able to build it on your time and work with who you want to. It also allows you to be able to leverage other people’s time to increase your business. By building a part-time business you can get to a point where it pays you more than your full-time job. Then you have some serious options. To keep your job or not keep your job is a different feeling than whether or not your employer will keep you or let you go. You will have become job optional. All this can be achieved by consistent effort applied over a part-time basis. I once heard that “you work your job to make a living but you work part-time on your fortune.” How much could you achieve if your efforts were applied properly to a part-time home business? The sky is the limit!

You Are the Average of the 5 People You Hang Around Most

Your Friends May Not Be Your Friends

I was talking to a good friend of mine today and we got to talking about business and success. He was telling me how it was time to cut out the dead weight that was dragging him down and start making himself a success. What does all this have to do with you? Well my friend realized that he wants success for himself and his son more than he wants people around him that don’t build him up. This can be a very hard thing for a lot of people to do but can be essential to your success. I am not saying that all your friends are bad people and that you should dump them. What I am saying is that not all of your friends are positive people. Face it. We live in a very negative world and people can get caught up in that. If you truly want success in business or anything for that matter you need to manage who you spend your time with.  I once heard someone tell me that if you hang out with 5 drunks you are likely to be the 6th. This is the power of association at work. Making the right decisions on who you hang out with is critical in life.

Where Everybody Know Your Name and They’re Always Glad You Came

Where can you find people who have a vested interest in your success and happiness? The best place I have found is to be involved in network marketing. This is the only business where people truly encourage you to become more and push you to be better. I have found that being involved with network marketing that it has introduced me to people who have the results in life that I want and also they are willing to teach you too. You see you cannot have success in network marketing if you don’t help others have success. Not to mention the positive energy of a team working together to achieve goals that help everyone. Being in this industry can really make a difference in your attitude and direction your life takes. Just remember some of your friends are not opposed to you getting ahead in life they are just opposed of you getting ahead of them. Minimize your time with downers and maximize your time with people of similar goals and you will be on your way to a successful life.

Is Your Money Working for You or Against You?

To Have or Not to Have Residual Income That Is the Question

Today the topic is residual income and what it can do for you. To some of you the term residual income may be a new term so I will define it as income that you receive over and over having only done the work once. For example if you have rental properties and the renters pay you month after month. You don’t have to re-rent the property to them every month, you just collect the money. Many people have bought into the 40/40/40 plan. That is work 40 hours a week, for 40 years and retire on 40% of what you made when you worked. For most people they are struggling making ends meet at 100% of their income let alone when they retire and make 40%. What I am trying to get at is that there are many ways to make residual income but it is just a matter of finding a fit for you.

A couple different options for you can be buying a franchise, building a real estate business or building a network marketing business. When it comes to buying a franchise, most people don’t have the capital to start-up one let alone find the location and staff to operate it. Next with real estate you can run into a market like we have now where many experienced real estate professionals are making a lot less than they did 10 yrs ago and flat-out it can be a tough industry to learn well enough to create serious residual income. My third suggestion is network marketing. This is by far the simplest way for the everyday person to start to creat residual income. In network marketing you can start you business most times for under $1000 and still have a systematic approach to building the business like a franchise has. You will also be able to start part-time but have the tax benefits of a true business owner.  This is why network marketing is working for so many people stuck in the 40/40/40 plan.  It just makes too much sense. Why would you not want to create an income that pays you over and over for work you did just once?

You can create any life style you want for you and your family. Just make sure that you are all in when you decide what industry to use!
